UWC International Board meeting: 6 - 7 July 2019
Arrival: Friday, 5 July 2019 (PM) or Saturday, 6 July 2019 (AM)

MEETING VENUE
The Board Meetings will take place at UWC International's new London office: 55 New Oxford Street, WC1A 1BS
LUNCHES AND DINNERS
Please note that lunches will be working lunches delivered to the UWC International Office.

ACCOMMODATION
We have currently reserved rooms at the Travel Lodge in Covent Garden from Thursday, 4 July to Tuesday, 9 July (5 nights). The cost of a room is £149.00 per night, breakfast is £6 per person and WiFi is £3 per 24 hours.

UWCIO will make the booking for you but unless agreed with us in writing beforehand, you will be invoiced by UWCIO for the costs of the room.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
In the United Kingdom the power sockets are of type G. This type is of British origin and the socket only works with plug G. The standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in the UK, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 - 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa). If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100 V - 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), you need a voltage converter in the UK.

DRESS CODE
The dress code for the duration of the events is smart casual. You may wish to consider the weather when choosing what to wear – the average temperature in London in July is warm at about 23 °C (73.4 °F). Overnight temperatures are generally mild with an average low of 15 °C (59 °F).
DRINKING WATER
In general, tap water is safe to drink in London. Bottled water however will be available for those who prefer not to drink local water. Coffee, tea and water will be available throughout the meetings.
INTERNAL TRANSPORTATION AND AIRPORT TRANSFERS
HEATHROW
By Public Transport - Take the Piccadilly line to Covent Garden station. It is a 7 minute walk to UWC International's office.
Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the Arrival levels of each Terminal. The journey should take 40 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes (dependent on traffic). Fares are metered and there is an additional Airport surcharge for all trips originating from the Airport. The fare would be anything between £40-90.
GATWICK
By Public Transport - There is no direct train between Gatwick airport and UWC International's office.
The route with the fewest changes is to take the Thameslink train to City Thameslink station, walk to St Paul's station (about 8 minutes) and take the Central Line to Tottenham Court Road station.
The route with the least walking is to take the Southern train to Victoria Station, get the Victoria line to Warren Street Station and get the Northern Line to Tottenham Court Road station.
From Tottenham Court Road station it is a 4 minute walk to UWC International's office.
Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the Arrival levels of each Terminal. The journey should take 1 hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours (dependent on traffic). Fares are metered and there is an additional Airport surcharge for all trips originating from the Airport. The fare would be anything between £65 - £110
STANDSTEAD
By Public Transport - - There is no direct train between Gatwick airport and UWC International's office.
Take the Greateranglia train to Liverpool Street station, then get the Central Line to Tottenham Court Road station.
From Tottenham Court Road station it is a 4 minute walk to UWC International's office.
Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the Arrival levels of each Terminal. The journey should take around 1 hour and 10 minutes. Fares are metered and there is an additional Airport surcharge for all trips originating from the Airport. The fare would be anything between £60 - £80
